About Us

Originally, Howard Mortuary opened as Stone Funeral Home in the early 2000s and was owned and operated by the late John Stone. In 2016, Rev. Dr. Marvin J. Howard Sr. acquired the establishment from the late Mr. Stone's family to service and restore family tradition to the surrounding community. Since that time Howard Mortuary has grown consistently. It is independently owned and operated by Rev. Dr. Marvin J. Howard Sr. and staff. The growth is due to both quality service and the Howard’s philosophy “ to treat everyone as family.” 

Our philosophy is to provide funeral services with care and compassion. We promise to provided servives with pride and dignity while remaining uncompromised, and continuously focused on our Telfair and surrounding community and its families.

Howard Mortuary is an extension of our family serving families in Telfair and surrounding counties. Our mortuary staff appreciates each family entrusting us not only with their loved ones, but to carry out the funeral service in a dignified manner.
