Ernest Hobbs, Jr., affectionately known as "Jr." was born on June 26, 1935, in McRae, GA, to the late Eldora Clark and Ernest Hobbs, Sr. Ernest was summoned to eternal rest on December 13, 2020 in Atlanta, GA.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Lee Williams, sisters, Earnestine Collins-Williams, Vinnie Jordan Brown, Alfreda Hobbs Burnett, daughter, Marilyn Quinette McLeoud, and special nephew, Johnny Jordan, Sr.
Ernest received his former education from Twin City High School, McRae GA, and Carver Night School in Atlanta, GA. He relocated to Atlanta to support his family and pursue his career in construction, electrical, plumbing, and brick masonry.
Ernest was a member of Central Valley Baptist Church, McRae as a youth and a member of Providence Baptist Church, and God Will Provide Ministry, Atlanta, GA. He was a Prince Hall Mason, Atlanta, GA.
In 1963, Ernest was united in Holy Matrimony to Lillie Dennis and to Joyce Lott in 1978.
He was loved and considered the family entertainer, Herbal Specialist, and jokester. He was the life of the party and loved to dance. He had a caring and loving spirit and made sure that he took care of the elderly and generously shared his wisdom with all.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Joseph Lewis, Elgin, Texas, Eric Hobbs (Gina), Snellville, GA, Kendall Lott (Caryn), Atlanta, GA, daughters; Marilyn Riley, Los Angeles, CA, twin daughters, Sherri Hobbs, Macon, GA, Terri Hobbs Candis (Derrick), Lawrenceville, GA, brother, Samuel T. Hobbs (Emma), McDonough, GA, special nephew, Thomas Jordan, Jr. (Madie), special nieces, Maxine Collins Williams (James), and Irene Collins Fletcher; Ernest was blessed with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His love will be missed by all.
