Joseph Clark Obituary

Mr. Joseph Clark, 79, of Alamo, GA, has joined our loving Creator on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at the Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Georgia. He was born on December 20, 1941, in Telfair County to George and Lula Mae Clark.

He was preceded in his death by his parents and a host of brothers and sisters: Elease Wilcox, Shirley Clark, Moses Clark, Maxine Moore, Carolyn Walker, Angela Austin, and Diane Barnes.

On April 16, 1962, Joseph was united in Holy Matrimony to Shirley Temple Woodard. They were married for 58 years.

He was a faithful member of Green Grove Baptist Church and served as a Deacon for several years. He moved his membership to join his wife at Horne Mission Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and served as a Church Steward for many years.

Joseph was educated in the Telfair County School System. He spent years working for the Lumber City Egg Company. He was a hard worker that always focused on treating people honestly and fairly. His quiet yet honorable demeanor always left a special impact on everyone that he met.

Afterward, Joseph dedicated his life to serving the Wheeler County School System as a Bus Driver and Custodian. He adored the students and families that he served. His love of children and community left an indelible impression that will last a lifetime.

He is survived by his beautiful wife Shirley (Big Mama) and three children, Charlene Hall of Alamo, GA, Stacy (Cathy) Clark of Lithonia, GA, and Ereka(Willie) of Ellenwood, GA; six grandchildren, Jessica Hope Hall, Lindsy Victoria Hall, Cayla Clark, Cyle Clark, Willie Swann III (Trey), and Ian Swan; five great-grandchildren, Zyohn, Keylan, Laila, Luke, and Arianna; one uncle Reverend Elijah (Thelma) Clark; two sisters, Jenelle Graham (John) and Pamela Hughes (Melvin); two brothers, Russel Clark and Ronnie Clark (Jackie); four sister-in-laws; five brother-in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Joseph (or Pa as he was so affectionately known as) loved to spend time with his family and friends. He loved fishing and hunting. Also, he was notably an avid quail hunter during his younger years. He will be greatly missed by all.

Howard Mortuary officially announces the passing of Mr.Joseph Clark 79, of Alamo, Georgia. Mr. Clark was a big family man, as he was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and much more. The Howard family is also extremely grateful for the many times he went out of his way to pick up our son to ride with his great grandson to practice. No matter how many times we told him he didn’t have to,he and his wife still came so  the boys could ride together. His kindness towards my family will never be forgotten. We are forever grateful to him and to God that we were able to tell him thank you while he was with us on Earth.
