Grace Coats

Grace Coats was born to Allene and Edward Moye on January 18, 1956. At

an early age and under the guidance of her mother, Grace was baptized and

joined Centilla Baptist Church, where she first learned of the love of Christ.

As time progressed, Grace grew into an outstanding young lady and

graduated from Telfair County High School in McRae, Georgia, Atlanta Area

Tech and Orange Park Beauty Academy in Jacksonville, Florida.

Grace developed a passion for making others feel beautiful and loved

through haircare when she was just a young girl. Although she joined the

workforce and served in several professional positions, her passion soon

became her daily profession as she launched her very own cosmetology

business “Amazing Grace Hair Salon”. Through her haircare business, Grace

touched and impacted many lives with her bubbly personality, love,

compassion, and sense of humor.

Grace married her best friend, Thomas Coats on January 31, 1986. They

built a family founded on the values and principles of Christ. Together, Grace

and Thomas raised two sons, Harold and Haki. As a family, they joined

Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida.

Mrs. Grace Coats was preceded in death by her parents, Allene and Edward

Moye Sr, her sister, Daisy Bell Williams, her brother, Jerome Moye, and her

niece Tamerly Josey. Grace leaves to mourn her passing, her beloved

husband of 36 years, Thomas Coats (Jacksonville, Florida); Two sons,

Harold (Arenda) Moye (Jacksonville, Florida) and Haki Coats (Jacksonville,

Florida); Three grandchildren, Latavia Moye, Marquis Moye, and Demontre´

Moye (all of Jacksonville, Florida); Two sisters, Patricia Moye and Gwendolyn

(Barney) Mobley (McRae, Georgia); Two brothers, Edward (Grace) Moye Jr

(Gainesville, Florida) and Willie James (Gwen) Moye (Eastman, Georgia);

Two sisters-in-love, Gloria Coats (Miami, Florida) and Dr. Janice Coats-Hardy

(Albany, Georgia); One brother-in-love, Arnold Coats (Miami, Florida). The

loving Grace mothered and helped to raise Ronald Moye, Tommy Moye,

Cassandra (Keith) White, Natarsha Moye, Rodreques Lemon, and Yuki

(Carlos) Smiley; Nieces and nephews: Jarrell, Angela, Courtney, Shakira,

Iliana, Ariah, Adonis Ilyssa, Ian, Emerson, Xyler, Yasmeen, Alexia, Alyanna,

Carlos,Skylar, Anissia, Keion, Keith Jr, Ronald Jr, Reco Jr, Arianna, Asianna,

Atianna, and Jeremy. Grace will be mourned by the Moye family, Coats

family, all the members of her extended family, and a host of close friends.
