Amontillado Ricardo Merritt Obituary (1974

Amontillado Ricardo Merritt affectionately known as Monti was born on November 15, 1974 in McRae, GA to Franklin L. Merritt and the late Rose Mary Merritt . He departed this life on Saturday, August 10, 2024. He is now healthy, free, and surrounded in eternal love by his family members that went on before him. Amontillado ("Monti") Merritt and his parents moved to Augusta, GA while his father attended dental school. The family later relocated to Rome, GA where he graduated from West Rome High School. He played and excelled on the basketball team and had a love for riding motorcycles. He attended Albany State College and Paine College in Augusta, GA. He later returned to McRae, GA and worked various jobs. He was known for remembering family birthdays and would always let you know whose birthday it was. He enjoyed watching movies, especially Steven Seagal. His favorite saying is "LIFE IS LIFE." He is survived by his father, Franklin L. Merritt, his daughter: LaShell Merritt, two grandchildren, Noah Watkins and Heather Pressley, a host of aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.
